The Falls are national parks of Argentina and Brazil, and were declared World Heritage Sites by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1984, protecting the land and wildlife from the “Progress” Halliburton feared would forever ruin this great wonder.
